About the Metro Public Safety Training Academy

The Metro Public Safety Training Academy was created by Devin Lambeth, PhD, Director of Operations for Metro Public Safety, as part of an ongoing effort to strengthen professional development, operational consistency, leadership preparation, and accountability across the organization.

Dr. Lambeth brings more than two decades of experience in law enforcement, private security, operations management, technology, and organizational leadership. His professional work has included law-enforcement command experience, executive-level security operations, security technology integration, training development, and applied research focused on the relationship between people, technology, and organizational performance.

The Academy reflects a practical training philosophy: employees should not simply be given policies to read. They should be provided clear instruction, meaningful assessments, documented training records, and role-specific development that helps them understand how Metro standards apply to the work they perform every day.

Current development efforts include expanding Metro’s officer training, annual in-service education, supervisor development, site-specific post-order qualification, and technology-supported learning. The broader goal is to create a modern training system that supports employee growth, strengthens service quality, and helps Metro Public Safety maintain consistent professional standards as the organization continues to evolve.
